I first met Cathy Schultz several years ago through my involvement with the Frederick County VA Equine Network (FCVEN).  I was immediately impressed by her knowledge of and compassion for horses, and the collaborative and caring way in which she interacted with others.  She assumed the Presidency of the Board of Directors for a period of time, and was instrumental in lining up speakers who presented on topics that were pertinent and of great interest to the membership.

Cathy serves BRCTH as a volunteer feeder a couple days a week on average.  I have full confidence in her ability to follow detailed instructions and also to think on her feet.  Her breath of knowledge and astute observation skills are an asset to BRCTH, as she frequently offers suggestions and solutions of which we had not thought.  Cathy also assists BRCTH in many other volunteer capacities, and is always willing to help.

I fully recommend Cathy to anyone who requires the services of someone they can trust with the care of their equines.  How many times have I heard from people that they cannot go away because they are hesitant to leave their horses in the care of a stranger or even someone they know well.  Cathy is the horse-sitter for them and for you!

Having known Cathy Schultz through her work in various Frederick
County equine organizations, I was thrilled to see her business card
at the local Southern States: "Horsey Helpers --- Horse Care When You
Can't be There." Since I was hoping to take a beach trip this summer,
I gave her a call.

Cathy suggested an initial visit during feeding time so that she could
observe the routines. She came well-prepared, with information about
her services and information forms for me to fill out. She said that
she could also care for my indoor and outdoor cats, as well as
bringing in the mail. During this visit, I found Cathy to be
observant, experienced and well-organized. I was able to concentrate
on my trip preparations and relax about the farm care while I was away.
Cathy kept me posted during the trip with text messages and an
occasional phone call. There was just enough communication to know
that my guys were in good hands.

I came home to a tidy, well-kept barn (better than I keep it at
times!) and horses that looked cared-for and happy. All the cats were
present and accounted for. The house was in good order.
I would not hesitate to recommend Horsey Helpers for horse, companion
animal and farm care. Thank you, Cathy, for a much-needed service in
the Frederick County, VA area!
